Class Descriptions
Yoga 1
In this class we will focus on the Hatha Yoga fundamentals of basic alignment, breath and awareness. The Asanas (postures) are designed to increase overall flexibility, enhancing balance, and strength of the spine, legs, torso and arms. Mindfulness is a quality that we learn to have in our yoga practice so that we can carry it into our daily life. This class is for the beginner or returning level 1 student as it is recommended that a student repeat this level at least once.

Yoga 1-2
We will be increasing our awareness of the body, alignment and ability to create a flow with the breath in the Asanas. Endurance and poise are increased as ones body becomes accustomed to the Asanas. Students will learn the steps for shoulderstand and beginning backbends. Suitable for the continuing level 1 student and those who have had yoga before, this is an important level and may be one that is repeated.

Yoga Nidra
This is a special class which will consist of Yoga Nidra, a practice which induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. During the practice one is staying aware and rotating the consciousness in the body, or on the breath, or the mind. Through this practice we are not only relaxing but restructuring and reforming our whole being. Yoga Nidra has many health benefits, one being more energy. We will conclude the class with meditation practice as Yoga Nidra prepares the mind and body for a deeper, fuller experience of concentration and meditation.
